Purple Abalone Pearl Necklace

Another one for the purple pearl lovers! This color is all natural! A 9.5mm mabe abalone pearl set in an artist designed and cast sterling silver piece. These abalone (paua) are straight from the Pacific Ocean in New Zealand! 

Like all the pearls from the abalone pearl farm, these are half spherical pearls. The necklace features sterling silver.

Mabé pearls, also known as blister pearls, are half-pearls. They are cultured against the inside shell of the abalone because the abalone cannot grow a round cultured pearl.
