We also repair all types of beaded jewelry—not just pearls.

Your jewelry does not need to have been purchased from The Pearl Girls. We repair jewelry from all brands.

How to Send Us Your Jewelry

There are three easy options to get your jewelry to us:

• Mail your jewelry to us using your own packaging OR

• Visit us in person in Athens, Georgia

Jewelry Return Kit – $19.99

This is our listing for our Jewelry Return Kit! We offer this in hopes of making it easy to safely package and send your jewelry to us for repair.

If you choose this option, we will mail you:

• A sturdy box with bubble wrap

• A prepaid USPS shipping label for sending your jewelry to us (up to 12 oz)

• Simple paperwork for describing your jewelry and repair needs

You may include multiple pieces in one box.

If your jewelry weighs more than 12 oz or you are sending multiple heavy pieces, please contact us and we will help arrange the appropriate shipping.

The $19.99 price includes the box and packing materials, shipping the kit to you, and prepaid USPS shipping for sending your jewelry to The Pearl Girls.

Additional shipping insurance is available upon request.

Prefer to use your own packaging and shipping method? That's perfectly fine. There is no obligation to purchase a Jewelry Return Kit.

Pearl Restringing & Reknotting

Longer strands, unusual designs, multiple strands, and more complex repairs are quoted after we receive and inspect your jewelry.

What Happens After We Receive Your Jewelry?

We want you to know exactly what to expect when you send jewelry to us for repair.

1. We receive your jewelry and notify you by phone or email.

2. We inspect your jewelry and determine the work needed.

3. We provide a repair estimate for your approval.

4. You approve the repair before our knotters begin work.

5. Our team completes your repair.

6. We contact you for payment.

7. Your repaired jewelry is returned to you.

We take special care with jewelry while it is in our possession and understand that many of the pieces entrusted to us have significant sentimental value.

Repair Turnaround Time

Typical jewelry repair turnaround is up to two weeks after approval.

During our busiest months—November, December, April, and May—turnaround may be up to four weeks.

How much does it cost to restring a pearl necklace?

Pearl necklace restringing starts at $125 for a necklace up to 18 inches. Longer necklaces are priced according to length. Unusual, multi-strand, or complex pieces may require a custom quote.

Do you knot between every pearl?

The appropriate restringing and knotting method depends on the original design and the jewelry itself. We will inspect your piece and recommend the appropriate method before beginning the repair.

Can you repair a broken pearl necklace?

Yes. Broken pearl necklaces are one of our specialties. We can restring and reknot the pearls and can also address issues such as damaged or worn clasps.

Can you replace the clasp on my pearl necklace?

Yes. We offer pearl necklace clasp replacement, with sterling silver clasps starting at $25 and 14K gold clasps starting at $100.

Can you repair jewelry that wasn't purchased from The Pearl Girls?

Absolutely. Your jewelry does not need to have been purchased from us. We repair pearls and beaded jewelry from all brands.

Do you repair imitation pearls?

Yes. In addition to cultured pearls, we can repair and restring many types of imitation pearl and beaded jewelry.

Can you restring beads other than pearls?

Yes. We repair many types of beaded necklaces and bracelets, including pieces made with glass, jade, turquoise, jet, coral, imitation pearls, and other beads and gemstones.

Can I send more than one piece of jewelry?

Yes. You may send multiple pieces in the same Jewelry Return Kit or package. Please clearly identify each piece and describe the repair you would like us to consider.

Will you give me a price before repairing my jewelry?

Yes. After your jewelry arrives, we inspect it and provide a repair estimate for your approval before beginning the work.

How long does pearl restringing take?

Typical turnaround is up to two weeks. During our peak months of November, December, April, and May, repairs may take up to four weeks. Rush service may be available for an additional fee.

Can you redesign old pearl or beaded jewelry?
