20 years of working in the pearl business and I just got scammed! I was buying pearls "direct from the pearl farm." The family Tahitian pearl farm was closing its doors and liquidating their inventory.
Look at this beautiful farm, as displayed in the Facebook ad:
Since I know Tahitian pearls are super expensive these days... and since I always sell The Pearl Girls inventory... I thought, why not? I will buy myself a Tahitian necklace! What is the worst case scenario? They look horrible! Well, if they do, no problem! They are offering a 30 day return policy! I can just send them back!
Well, they arrived! And they are the worst! Green, plastic beads. There is not bit of pearl in these imitation pearls! And they are a horrible color, too!! These did not come from a pearl farm!!! They came from the plastics plant!!
So... what is a girl to do? Well, send them back, of course! I even took a screen shot of the return policy!
((11:56 PM time stamp! Why, oh why, wasn't I asleep???))
Well, no chance in sending them back! I guess I could send them back IF there was actually anyone to contact about this!! But the website is gone and the email address is a no-reply! These scammers have disappeared!

Next step, I will contact American Express to see if they can help! They have never let me down yet! I will let you know!
Here's to always buying from trusted suppliers! There are way too many scammers out there!
All I can say is I am happy that The Pearl Girls is a business with integrity! I forget not everyone operates the same way!
God luck out there shopping! I hope you don't get scammed like I did!
