Hey Pearl Girls, Do You Eat Oysters?

Seriously, would you have reacted any differently? There I was at a remote pearl farm in Japan. First I was analyzing all of the aquatic species that attach to oysters during the pearl culturing process. Did you see the video featuring the worm? Gross, right?

Now flashback to my childhood... I am southern! I was raised to be polite and to eat what was offered to me. And, as I have learned over the years, this is an international standard! It is rude to decline food ... but food from a shell that was covered in what I consider to be non-edible sea life? It was tough to swallow... literally. So, here I go trying my best to eat the oyster...
