I spent this year's July 4th in Side Lake, Minnesota! What a little slice of heaven!!
And it got me thinking... some of y'all might be curious about whether you can wear your pearls to the lake! So, I shot a quick video for you!
The quick answer is YES!
Pearls don't mind getting wet. In fact, they come from the water! Whether you're relaxing at the lake, enjoying a day on the boat, or spending time by the shore, you can confidently wear your favorite pearl jewelry.
But, here is the problem! Sunscreen. ☀️
While water won't hurt your pearls, sunscreen, lotions, and beauty products can build up on the surface over time. This residue can dull the luster and slowly break down the nacre that gives pearls their beautiful glow. Look at my pearl after just 1 day of 4th of July fun and a day of sunscreen application!
So, if you want to wear your your pearls to the lake, here are my tips!✨
• Put on your sunscreen first and let it absorb completely.
• Then put on your pearls.
• After wearing them, gently wipe them with a soft, clean cloth before putting them away.
Your pearls are meant to be worn and enjoyed—not left sitting in a jewelry box! Just take care of them!
Have fun on your summer adventures!
Love,
India
