The Pearl Girls create all of our jewelry and designs at our shop in Athens, GA. We also have a huge reknot and repair department. People all over the world ship us their pearls and beaded jewelry to reknot, repair or create into a new design. Along with our passion for pearls, we are passionate about creating jobs right here in our home base in Athens, GA. We provide many perks to our staff including childcare for our hardworking mothers! A First for Women

Nellie Ross was elected as governor of Wyoming November, 1924 after her husband, the previous governor, died a month earlier. She was inaugurated January 5, 1925. She was the very first female governor in the U.S. She served for two years before being defeated in the following election. She stayed active in the Democratic Party and in 1933 FDR appointed her as the first female director of the U.S. Mint.
