Our January fundraiser, Pearls for Project Safe, is now closed! It was an amazing month and we thank all of you for your support and purchases! Our in-store fundraiser, Pearls for Project Safe, took place Saturday, January 26th from 10AM to 2PM. It was an amazing event! Take a peek at the few photos I took of folks opening an oyster and finding a pearl!
Project Safe aims to reduce incidents of domestic violence and increase victims’ access to safety and justice through a variety of services. In an effort to support their ongoing services, we are invited customers to come by The Pearl Girls. For $10, they picked their own oysters, opened them and discovered what pearl was hidden inside! All oysters came with a mixed metal necklace. And all profits go to Project Safe!
Now, since we have so many wonderful customers who couldn’t make it AND so many wonderful customers outside of Athens, we are so excited to offer a little take home kit! Feel free to order your own “Open and Oyster” kit and we will mail you an oyster to open and a necklace to go with it! All for $10!
Another fun aspect to our fundraiser was your ability to upgrade to our gorgeous wire wrapped ring (Artist Sylvia Dawe was on hand making rings for our fundraiser!). Although the fundraiser has closed, we still offer wire wrapped rings. See them here!
Please know that the fundraiser for rings and oysters is now closed. We are so excited that we were able to raise $1100 for Project Safe… thanks to the wonderful generosity of our customers!!
The final thing to know about these oysters… these are something we ordered specifically for this event and fundraiser. Although we create all of our jewelry here in the USA, these were produced and created overseas. We do not offer our same workmanship guarantee on these oysters or their accompanying necklaces. Because of the nature of this product and because we were donating these profits, we also do not offer any refunds. These are considered FINAL SALE.
Do not eat these oysters!! They are preserved in a solution of rubbing alcohol and water so they fine to open and touch and get your pearl but they are not safe to eat.
Thanks so much for joining us in this amazing fundraiser and for having fun opening these oysters! I appreciate you!!
